Rehabilitation of scenic Laguna de Bay

The once scenic and historic Laguna de Bay is now being rehabilitated by the Department of Agriculture (DA) with the dispersal on Monday (June 19, 2017) of 5 million fingerlings of various non-invasive species to rejuvenate the country’s fisheries production along with the other major inland bodies of water nationwide. The dispersal was led by DA Secretary Emmanuel Pinol in response to President Duterte’s order to dismantle fishpens in the lake to help sustenance fishermen in the area. (PNA photos by Ben Briones)
