NO TOUCH

NO TOUCH. A butterfly rests on a signage that reminds visitors not to touch them at the Manila Zoological and Botanical Garden on Monday (March 20, 2023). Touching its wings would actually damage tiny wing scales (modified hairs). If too many scales are rubbed away, the wing is likely to tear or fail. The zoo, home to exotic wildlife of different species of mammals, birds and reptiles, was rehabilitated in 2020 and reopened in December 2021. (PNA photo by Joan Bondoc)
