MANILA -- The low pressure area (LPA) last spotted at 175 kilometers northeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur will cause rains over most parts of the archipelago, state weather agency Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Administration (PAGASA) said Friday.

Visayas, Mindanao, Bicol, Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon will experience cloudy skies and scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms.

Palawan will also experience cloudy skies, scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms, but these are due to the southwest monsoon affecting Palawan, PAGASA said.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies and isolated rainshowers, mostly in the afternoon or in the evening.

Light to moderate winds will blow from southwest to southeast over northern and central Luzon.

Coastal waters along these areas will be slight to moderate.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from southwest to west with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said.(PNA)
