MANILA -- Lightning, occasional heavy rains, strong winds and flash floods are possible in Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Mimaropa and Calabarzon, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) 24-hour forecast released Tuesday afternoon.

A low-pressure area (LPA) may bring cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms in these areas, noted PAGASA.

The LPA was located at 375 km west-northwest of Coron in Palawan province as of 3 p.m. Tuesday.

The Visayas, Mindanao and rest of Luzon may experience occasional lightning, strong winds and heavy rains from localized thunderstorms that can bring to these areas partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

Coastal waters nationwide may be slight to moderate as light to moderate winds are likely from the southeast over Luzon and from the southeast over Luzon and from southwest to south over the Visayas and Mindanao, PAGASA added. (PNA)
