CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga--The Police Regional Office-3 (PRO-3) has issued some safety tips in line with the annual observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.

Chief Supt Amador V. Corpus PRO-3 director, said the move is to ensure public safety as well as security in the homes.

“I want to remind our public to also be wary and alert so as not to give lawless elements the opportunity to carry out their nefarious activities," Corpus said.

He advised the public to observe the following tips before leaving their homes:

1)Lock all doors and windows and ensure all possible paths to the house are blocked.
2)Install a burglar alarm to alert the neighbors if someone breaks in.
3)Do not leave notes outside the house indicating you will be away.
4)Keep some appliances like the radio on to give the impression someone is still inside the house.
5)Ask a trusted neighbor to keep watch over your house.
6)Ensure no candle, gas stove or leaking faucet or plugged appliance is left unattended.
7)Secure all items such as clothes being hung out to dry.

While in the cemeteries, Corpus reminded the public of the following:

3)Do not bring deadly or bladed weapons, loud speakers, and gambling paraphernalia.
4)Closely watch items brought inside cemeteries and make sure the candles you bring will not cause fires.

6)Keep the surroundings clean and bring your own trash bag to put garbage in.
7)Know where the first aid stations and PNP assistance booths are in case of emergency or need for police assistance.

4)Ensure control of the vehicle at all times. Avoid one-handed driving or using a mobile phone and avoid driving while drunk or sleepy.
5)When driving at night, always use headlights and signal lights. Do not drive when you have poor eyesight.
6)If you do not live too far from a cemetery, do not bring your car so as not to add to traffic.

2)Keep watch over your mobile phone.
3)Do not bring too many items.
