No classes in some south Luzon areas Friday due to 'Salome'

MANILA -- Some provinces in southern Tagalog announced suspension of classes for Friday due to bad weather brought by tropical depression 'Salome'.
 
As of this posting, the following areas have called off classes for Friday (November 10):
 
  • Batangas (all levels)
  • Quezon (all levels)
  • Laguna (all levels)
  • Morong, Rizal (all levels)
  • Calapan, Oriental Mindoro (all levels)

In its 7 p.m. bulletin, state weather agency Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) last spotted 'Salome' at the vicinity of San Juan, Batangas, packing maximum sustained winds of up to 55 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph. 

'Salome' is moving west northwest towards the provinces of Marinduque and Quezon at 25 kph. (PNA)
