CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – Day-care children in Pampanga province showcased their talents and creativity as the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) and the Provincial Council for the Protection of Children (PCPC) conducted Thursday the Children’s Congress in celebration of Children’s Month this November.

PSWD officer Elizabeth Baybayan said the conduct of the Children’s Congress aims to promote and protect the rights of minors.

Baybayan said the provincial government headed by Governor Lilia Pineda has always been supportive of the welfare of children.

She said the ratification of the Provincial Children’s Code in 2012 leading to the creation of the Child Abuse and Prevention Network (CAPIN) and the establishment of the Child Protection Units in the 11 district and provincial hospitals in Pampanga ensured the protection of children's rights.

Earlier, Pampanga was recognized as one of the top child-friendly provinces in the country for its programs and services for the welfare of children. (PNA)
