PRO-5 to relaunch 'Oplan Tokhang' in Legazpi fun walk

LEGAZPI CITY -- The Police Regional Office-5 (PRO-5) will relaunch the “Oplan Tokhang” through a fun walk, simultaneously with other PROs nationwide on Saturday afternoon, an official of the Philippine National Police-Bicol said Friday. 

Senior Insp. Malu Calubaquib, PRO-5 spokesperson, in an interview on Friday said the activity dubbed “L.A.K.A.D. Tokhang 2” which stands for Lipulin at Kalampagin ang Droga, has as its main objectives raising public awareness on the ill-effects of hard drugs and encouraging participants to actively get involved in the national campaign against illegal substances.

"We are expecting more or less 5,000 participants from public and private sectors that are invited and expected to join the parade which will commence from Peñaranda Park, Legazpi City passing through Rizal Avenue and will end at Camp BGen. Simeon A. Ola, Potenciano Gregorio Garden with a total of 1.7 kilometers," Calubaquib said.

The activity will be highlighted by a rally where invited resource speakers will share their insights on the worthy undertakings to advance the government's war on illegal drugs. (PNA)
