CAMP GEN. VICENTE LIM, Calamba City -- About 70 police non-commissioned officers, three of them policewomen, were among the third batch who took part in the RESHAPE program which kicked off in Monday’s ceremonies here.
RESHAPE, or Return to the Effective, Socially, Healthy and Active Person Empowerment Program, is the regional police’s continuing internal cleansing program which covers police units in the Calabarzon provinces of Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon.
Chief Supt. Ma. O R. Aplasca, Police Regional Office (PRO 4-A) Director, graced the opening of the third batch takers who will undergo their 45-day training at the Provincial Mobile Force Company in Camp Sandigan, Barangay Bitin in Bay, Laguna.
“We are promoting a God-Centered, Service-Oriented and Family-Based Police Service in Calabarzon. RESHAPE is part of the serious Internal Cleansing program of our region to transform and redirect our personnel,” Aplasca said.
RESHAPE participants are cops who have criminal and administrative cases which include grave misconduct, conduct unbecoming of a police officer, dishonesty and absence without official leave (AWOL).
“You are here because we care for you. Do not treat this as punishment but rather an opportunity for you to renew your commitment and learn more about God, your family and our organization,” Aplasca told participants.
Some of the participants were endorsed by their respective chiefs of police due to misdemeanors.
As part of the stringent rules, the participants are not allowed to use their cell phones and other gadgets during the training to avoid distractions and stay focused on the RESHAPE sessions.
The participants are expected to focus more on strengthening and rebuilding their relationship with God, their families, co-workers, to their sworn duty and to the community through lectures and spiritual activities. (PNA)
