LAOAG CITY—With the onset of the summer season, the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte announced Tuesday the hiring of tourism ambassadors is now open.

Provincial Tourism Officer (PTO) Aianree Raquel said the tourism ambassadors would serve as tourist aides and story tellers in various museums, churches, and other major destinations here.

Raquel said the tourism employment program is back and applications are now welcome at the PTO.

“We are again accepting applicants and the basic qualification is they should be at least 18 years old and show interest in tourism work,” Raquel said.

Regardless of age or status, Raquel said anybody is welcome to apply for the tourism job.

He added they have reserved slots too for retirees and senior citizens.

As of the moment, Raquel said they are hoping to employ about 300 tourism aides again this summer where foreign and domestic tourist arrivals are on its peak season for the province.

Like in previous years, the additional workers will assist the provincial government in serving as tourist ambassadors utility personnel and first aid personnel in at least 42 tourists centers across the province, starting March until the end of the summer season.

Interested individuals may fill out application forms at the PTO or inquire at ‎0939-147-3720 or ‎0935-344-1254 or email [email protected] or [email protected]. (PNA)
