MANILA -- Jericho Rosales or "Echo" has been active in the showbiz industry since 1996. Ever wondered why it seems like he still looks the same? How does he stay young and fit?
When I saw Echo recently, I told him his face looks the same whether on or off-screen.
"I really have no secret to (staying young)," he giggled.
Echo shared that his life revolves around God, music, sports, surfing, and riding motorcycles.
"It also helps to be nice and eat healthy. Work out," he added.
In a previous interview with the Philippine News Agency (PNA), Echo said his wife, Kim Jones, always reminds him to work out. He has, in fact, a gym at the basement of his house.
Echo has been known recently as a motorcycle enthusiast. It was in 2000 when he started riding motorcycles, but decided to stop to focus on surfing and acting.
It was only a few years back when his interest in motorcycling came back. That was when he started collecting bikes again and would ride three to four times a week.
"Safety first. Motorcycle enthusiasts need to check the weather, their health, the bike," he shared. “They need to make sure their bikes are in shape. Check the tires, the oil.”
While there may be a lot of tips on how a person can look younger, he said what matters more is what's inside the person's heart.
On challenges and success
Echo was a former fish vendor before he made it big in television screens.
Though he struggled, he was able to reach for his dreams and did TV shows, movies and endorsements.
Echo said success does not come on a silver platter. "I have had many challenges," he said.
He told PNA that most of the time, the challenges he had encountered was about decision-making. "Basically, most of the time, it was about creative decisions, career decisions I had to make," he said, adding that he had always included his family and friends whenever he faced challenges.
To be successful, the actor said one needs to define first what success is for him/her.
"You have to set the bar. Identify your dreams. Then you would be able to identify the measure of success," he continued.
"If you want to be successful financially, save money, spend less. If you want to be successful in your craft, then study," he said.
Echo also mentioned that success is not all about having money.
2018 bucket
Echo shared that he's very busy this 2018.
He has an upcoming TV show and is working on a movie now, where he is set to shoot one of its main scenes in August.
The versatile actor is currently working on three songs, too.
"I'm also working on a bunch of things off-cam. I'm busy but of course, I still have time for fun," he said. (PNA)
