Calabarzon police readies ‘Ligtas SumVac 2018’

CAMP GEN. VICENTE LIM, Calamba City -- The Police Regional Office (PRO4A) in Calabarzon started deploying Friday some 6, 692 police personnel for its “Ligtas SumVac 2018” to ensure a safe and secured summer vacation season.

Calabarzon Police Regional Director, Chief Supt. Ma. O R. Aplasca, led the launching rites in this camp and reminded all police unit commanders to double their efforts in ensuring the security and safety of the public during the season.

The police “Summer Vacation (SUMVAC) 2018” operations, which are set to end on June 13, are synchronized with the onset of three-month summer season and timed when the school break begins.

The police operations are also expected during various activities such as the Lenten Season, Philippine Veterans Week, Araw ng Kagitingan, Labor Day, National Flag Day, and Flores de Mayo, among others.

Aplasca also enjoined the cooperation of members of the Calabarzon police, support units, military counterparts, and other law enforcement agencies, local government units (LGUs), non-government organizations (NGOs), force multipliers, and other civilian volunteer groups for their assistance in providing public safety services.

He also appealed to the public for their full support and cooperation this summer season as he underscored the need to stay vigilant.

Part of the “LigtasSumvac 2018” operations also encompasses the election security operations for the upcoming Barangay and SK election this coming May 14 as scheduled until further notice by the Commission on Elections.

The regional police director also encouraged the public to report to the nearest police stations or any law enforcement agency any suspicious activities in their areas.

He also assured that the PRO 4A headquarters is mobilizing sufficient number of policemen and personnel ready to respond immediately in case of contingencies.

Police Supt. Chitadel Carandang Gaoiran, chief of the regional police public information office, said the Calabarzon regional police force will be augmented by some 8,422 Force Multipliers and Volunteer Groups who will support in the deployment to various places of convergence like transportation hubs, terminals, malls, sea ports, markets and commercial areas in the region.
