SAN JOSE De BUENAVISTA, Antique -- Senator Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino has assured the “Go Negosyo” centers established throughout the country will receive continuing funds and will even be expanded.

He made the assurance in his capacity as the Senate Vice Chairperson of the Committee on Finance.

Aquino lauded the province when he learned that all the 18 towns of the province will have their “Go Negosyo” centers by October.

He said Republic Act No. 10644 or the “Go Negosyo Act” is really meant for the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to be able to transact directly with their constituents.

The Act, which the senator authored, is meant to strengthen micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to create more job opportunities in the country.

“This is a program that’s able to cross over the administration and has become even a flagship program of the DTI under Secretary Ramon M. Lopez,” Aquino said.

He added that he is proud of the law that has assisted many MSMEs.

In Antique, the “Go Negosyo” centers have assisted many MSMEs in terms of their business name registration and the trainings provided them.

Through the aggressive leadership of DTI Antique provincial director Mercedes Young, all the municipalities in Antique by October will already be able to have their Go Negosyo centers established.

The senator visited Antique on Tuesday to serve as commencement speaker of the University of Antique main campus in Sibalom.

He held a press conference at the office of the Antique Governor Rhodora before the graduation ceremony. (PNA)
