Bar exam results out on April 26: SC

MANILA -- The Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday said that it would release the results of 2017 Bar Exams on April 26.

SC spokesperson Theodore Te said the magistrates would hold a special session in Manila after their annual summer sessions in Baguio City this month to deliberate on the results of the exams.

“The Court will meet in a special en banc session to deliberate on the results. After which, the 2017 Bar Exams Committee Chair Justice Lucas P. Bersamin will officially announce the results,” Te said in a statement.

He added that names of successful examinees would be flashed on screen at the SC quadrangle and could also be viewed at the high court's website.

During the 2017 bar examinations, total of 7,277 law students took the country's 117th bar examinations held on four Sundays of the month of November at the University of Santo Tomas (UST) in Manila.

Data from the Office of the Bar Confidant (OBC), last year’s number of examinees (7,227) number is higher compared to last year’s 6,831 and only 6,354 finished the first Sunday of the exams.

“Statistics: 7,227 were admitted to take the bar; after first Sunday, only 6,759 remained; as of third Sunday leading into today’s last two exams, there are now only 6,750 examinees,” SC Public Information Office said posted in their Twitter account @SCPh_PIO.

The Bar exam covers eight subjects namely Political Law, Civil Law, Taxation, Labor Law, Criminal Law, Remedial Law, Mercantile Law and Legal and Judicial Ethics. (PNA)
