CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan--Two notorious drug peddlers were killed Friday in police buy-bust operations in the towns of Pandi and Bocaue, this province.

Senior Supt. Romeo Caramat Jr., the Bulacan police director, identified the fatalities as Mark Anthony Bagason, alias "Nognog," who was killed in Pandi; and Jayson Lovenia, alias "Epoy," who was killed in Bocaue.

Chief Inspector Manuel de Vera, the police chief of Pandi, said that Bagason sensed that the poseur-buyer was a policeman and immediately pulled a gun and fired towards the apprehending operatives, who then retaliated and eventually killed the suspect.

Police investigators recovered from the crime scene a Black Widow caliber 9-mm revolver without serial number, loaded with three spent and two live bullets, and four plastic sachets of dried suspected marijuana fruiting tops.

On the other hand, Supt. Jowen dela Cruz, Bocaue police chief, said Lovenia was killed after he shot it out with police operatives conducting sting operation against him in Barangay Batia, Bocaue.

Recovered from the encounter site in Bocaue were five plastic sachets of shabu weighing about five grams with a street value of about PHP25,000; a .38 caliber revolver without serial number loaded with two live and three spent bullets, and five PHP100 peso bills as buy-bust money. (PNA)
