LUCENA CITY, Quezon – Governor David C. Suarez bagged the country’s “Outstanding Governor – Hall of Fame Award” in the field of Social Service and Development in recognition of his outstanding comprehensive social services programs, exemplary provincial governance and leadership during the awards rite on Wednesday at the Crown Legacy Hotel in Baguio City.

Quezon Provincial Public Information Office informed the Philippine News Agency that Suarez was elevated to the hall of fame after bagging the outstanding social protection development service awards for three consecutive years.

“It’s nice to hear that we see champions in social welfare and development fighting for the improvement of lives of the Filipino people. Focusing on what really matters which is efficient and effective service that will bring about true improvement in the quality of life,” Suarez remarked in his acceptance speech.

He also commended provincial personnel and thanked his constituents “for your immense support and assistance to our commitment to uplift the lives of all Quezonians.”

“I share this award with you. I receive this award with pure humility and honor. I will carry this award with me wherever I go. And know in the brightest corner of my term, this award will shine,” Suarez said.

The Quezon governor also expressed appreciation to the Association of Local Social Welfare and Development Officers of the Philippines (ALSWDOPI), Inc. for the strings of achievements and awards as he hailed the province’s efficient and dedicated social workers for whom he shared the honors.

Suarez also bannered the province’s pioneering Quezon’s First 1,000 Days of Life, or Q1K, which addresses the primary health care and nutrition services for the mother and her unborn child and up to the child’s birth and post natal nurture and care up to the child’s two year-old stage.

He underscored the importance of the formative years during the first 1,000 days of the child as the “golden window of opportunity” given the support of the various provincial offices to address health and nutrition and the general welfare of his constituents.

He said that improving sustained services to the people is part of their oath as public servants. (PNA)
