BATANGAS CITY – Governor Hermilando Mandanas vowed to lure more investors and business institutions into Batangas to boost the province economy and create more jobs in pursuit of his local governance thrust on “Rich Batangas.”

Batangas Public Information Office chief Jenelyn A. Aguilera said Friday that part of the Governor’s activities is to engage in trade missions and participate in international forums to pitch for the province competitiveness and favorable climate for investments.

Aguilera said Mandanas was part of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s official government delegation during the President’s participation in the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Annual Conference 2018 themed “An Open and Innovative Asia for a World of Greater Prosperity,” held in Hainan Province, People’s Republic of China from April 9 to 12.

She added m that the Batangas governor took the opportunity in attracting investors and business firms as the recent international gathering of world and business leaders focused their discussions on economic integration and solidarity in the Asian region.

Mandanas also took time off to dialogue with the Filipino community in Hong Kong, among them Batangueños who have searched for greener pastures abroad to uplift the lives of their families and fellow Batangueños.

Meanwhile, Provincial Administrator Levi Dimaunahan said the Governor’s official travels abroad were meant “to promote Batangas as best he could” to scale up the province competitiveness not only in the country but also to the world stage.

Dimaunahan said the Governor left Thursday for Las Vegas, Nevada, USA as guest of honor and speaker at a road show for the Batangas Investment and Tourism Forum; then on April 26 in Houston, Texas and on April 28 at Glendale, California.

He said the pouring of investments into the province would establish more businesses, create more jobs and employment and spur economic growth.

He said the Governor has embarked on an aggressive campaign to promote Batangas as a premiere investment and tourism sites through business firms interested in infrastructure projects and make the province an attractive site.

According to Aguilera, side by side with the Governor’s investment promotions are job creation and employment generation through the provincial government’s sponsored jobs fair for local and overseas work.

She said the provincial government, through the Provincial Assistance for Community Development (PACD) – Public Employment Service Office (PESO), has conducted a Special Recruitment Activity (SRA) from April 17 to 18 at the Capitol’s PACD conference room.

In partnership with the Sunway International Manpower Services Inc. (SIMS), the jobs fair has drawn foreign employers Buhmaid in Qatar for skilled workers such as plumber, tile fixer, electrician, AC technician and draftsman (Civil) while the CSB in Malta for the European state has openings for bus driver, cashier, shop helper, warehouseman, sales associates, among others.

Foreign employers in Al Yamama in Dammam, Saudi Arabia are also in need of welders for stainless steel/inconel, pipe fabricator, instrument technician, refrigerator technician, among other jobs.

Aguilera also reported that SIMS has scheduled its mini jobs fair for local employment on Friday with participating companies such as SM City Batangas for positions in customer assistant, store operations and office assistant; Ace Hardware for counter supervisor, warehouse supervisor, sales assistant, cashier/sales clerk and sales utility clerk/stock clerk.

She said EMS Services Philippines Inc. has immediate hiring for both male and female production operators. (PNA)
