CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – Central Luzon police is ready for the Labor Day celebration on Tuesday (May 1), including the mass actions expected to be staged by labor and transport organizations all over the region.

Chief Supt. Amador V. Corpus, director of the Police Regional Office 3 (Central Luzon), said that a security plan has been laid out for the event.

“As in the past, there would be deployment for crime prevention and control,” Corpus said.

He said that a total of 220 police personnel from the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 3 (RMFB3) will be dispatched for civil disturbance management (CDM) augmentation in the National Capital Region, if the need arises during the event.

He said that all provincial police offices/chief of police offices (PPOs/CPOs) have alerted their CDM personnel and tactical units on the ground starting on Monday, ready to respond for any eventualities within their areas of jurisdiction.

“Inspecting team from the Regional Headquarters will conduct CDM readiness inspection among the different PPOs/CPOs to check their preparedness,”he said.

At the same, Corpus said that all contingents are reminded to observe "maximum tolerance", the Philippine National Police’s standing policy when it comes to handling mass action on the protesters.

Meanwhile, he said that Police Assistance Desks (PADs) and Motorists Assistance Centers (MACs) are still in placed in convergence points like bus terminals, airport, seaports and recreational areas including highways, main thoroughfares and crime prone areas to ensure maximum police presence until June 13, 2018, as "Ligtas SumVac 2018" is still in effect.
