TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite – The National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) Region IV-A is coordinating with various partner agencies, clients, volunteer groups, and the general public for their possible nominees to Search for Outstanding Volunteers (SOV).

The SOV is an annual activity held every December organized by the Philippine National Volunteer Service and Coordination Agency (PNSVCA), an attached agency of NEDA. The search is held “not just to cite, recognize the valuable contributions of these volunteers in building strong resilient communities across the country but also to continuously advocate and highlight volunteerism,” said SOV Focal Person and Senior Economic Specialist Ray Michael Kevin Abuso.

Abuso, from NEDA’s Project Monitoring and Evaluations Division (PMED), said the search is open for volunteer individuals (subdivided into youth and adult categories), organizations or local chapters of foreign volunteer organizations.

He said that NEDA-PMED, which serves as the regional arm, and SOV Secretariat is now accepting nominations until June 15, “so we (Secretariat) can validate, evaluate and package the entries for submission to the National Secretariat.”
