Antique guv donates mid-year bonus to provincial hospital

SAN JOSE De BUENAVISTA, Antique -- Antique Governor Rhodora J. Cadiao donated her bonus for the improvement of the provincial hospital following the release of the mid-year bonus of this local government employees on Wednesday.

Cadiao announced the release of the much-awaited bonuses of the more than 1,000 permanent capitol employees.

The governor’s bonus will be used for the repainting of the hospital wards and installation of ceiling fans inside the wards and hallways of the Angel Salazar Memorial General Hospital.

The bonus is equivalent to one-month salary. The governor receives a salary equivalent to Salary Grade 30.

The governor asked Provincial Health Officer II Dr. Ric Noel Naciongayo and Dr. Menchu V. Diana, chief of clinic, if they could also give a portion of their bonus for the replacement of the hospital’s broken floor tiles.

“I also encourage Dr. Naciongayo and Dr. Diana to donate portion of their bonuses for the hospital,”Cadiao said.

Since last Friday, the governor had been meeting hospital officials and janitors because of complaints she received about the facility’s sanitation.

She conducted an on-the-spot inspection and even talked to several patients to get their feedback about the hospital’s environment on the same day. `

Cadiao also started to hold office at the hospital since Monday to oversee the ongoing improvement. She also led the cleanup of the hospital wards.

The provincial hospital is categorized as Level 2 and only has 100-bed capacity.

It attends to an average of 250 to 300 patients daily. (PNA)
