ZAMBOANGA CITY--A 2.4-magnitude earthquake shook this city on Thursday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.
Allan Rommel Labayog, Phivolcs-Zamboanga science research analyst, said the tectonic quake struck at 10:52 a.m., and was felt at Intensity 2 in Zamboanga City.
Its epicenter was located 8 km. north of this city and its depth, at 33 km., said Labayog.
No damage was reported and no aftershock was expected.
According to the Phivolcs earthquake intensity scale, an Intensity 2 quake is slightly felt, usually by individuals who are resting indoors. Hanging objects swing slightly and still water in containers oscillate noticeably. (PNA)
