CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna- Chief Supt. Guillermo Eleazar, Police Regional Office (PRO)-Calabarzon director, on Wednesday presented to media three suspected guns for hire, a day after they were arrested in a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay I-C, San Pablo City.
Eleazar named the arrested suspects as Rodolfo Bombilla Viterbo alias Bunso, 31, a resident of Guadalupe Barangay II-A; Christopher Pasco Peñaflor alias Cris, 40, a resident of Cristina Park Subdivision Bagong Bayan Barangay I-C; and Ferdinand Lasam Lapuz, alias Macoy, 37, a resident of Guadalupe Barangay II A, all in San Pablo City in this province.
According to Eleazar, the three were identified under the Drug Watch List and also involved in gun for hire activities and associated with shooting incidents in the city.
Eleazar cited the suspects' involvement in a shooting incident last December 15, 2017 at Lopez Jaena St. in same city where the victim was identified as Peter Villamin Brinas, vendor, and a resident of Barangay VII-A.
Another shooting incident occurred last March 3, 2018 involving another vendor identified as Rosano Panopio Gamit from Baranga Lalig, Tiaong, Quezon.
Meanwhile, pieces of evidence presented include eight pieces plastic sachets containing suspected ‘shabu’, an Armscor 45 Caliber pistol; a Remington 45 Caliber pistol; 21 live ammunition for Caliber 45 pistol; three pieces magazines for Caliber 45 pistol; a hand grenade; PHP 2,080 recovered money, including the marked money; and several drug paraphernalia.
Eleazar said the suspects will be charged with violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002; RA 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act; and RA 9516 or Illegal Possession of Explosives.
He said follow up investigation and information gathering are being conducted related to all shooting incidents and that appropriate charges against the identified suspects shall be filed. (PNA)
