500 enroll in vocational courses in Lucena training center

LUCENA CITY, Quezon -- Nearly 500 residents of this city attended the orientation seminar held at the Lucena Manpower Skills and Training Center (LMSTC) at the City Hall Annex in Barangay Isabang here Wednesday.

City Hall Executive Asst. III Rogelio Traqueña and LMSTC coordinator Criselda David led the corps of instructors of the training center’s various courses during the briefing.

David presented the guidelines for the courses offered, noting that the city government will shoulder the expenses for those who want to further their vocational skills.

She added that the city government, through Mayor Dondon Alcala, will also take care of other consumables, such as those required in Driving and Troubleshooting courses like gasoline and brake fluids, and LPG for baking courses.

LMSTC currently offers 12 courses -- Massage Therapy, Computer Technician, Electronics Technician, Driving and Troubleshooting, Dressmaking, Refrigeration and Air Condition Technician, Building Electrician, Hair Science and Cosmetology, Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Bread and Pastry Production, Auto-Electrical Wiring and Automotive Mechanical Assembly.
