SAN JOSE De BUENAVISTA, Antique – Antique’s Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) has advised its municipal offices to conduct on-site school risk and hazard assessment as part of preparations for the school opening.

In an interview Thursday, PDRRMO-Antique chief Broderick Train said the on-site school risk and hazard assessment is very important in ensuring the safety of students and school personnel.

“It is important to know the risks and hazards in the schools,” Train said.

He said that through the assessment, the municipal disaster risk reduction offices would be able to advise the school heads on how to implement safety and other contingency measures.

He also said that he has asked these offices to assist police personnel in maintaining peace and order when schools open on Monday.

“Emergency medical service personnel will also be deployed to strategic areas,” Train said.

He cautioned drivers to observe road safety when they transport students to their respective schools. (PNA)
