LAOAG CITY—Ilocos Norte Vice Governor Eugenio Angelo Marcos Barba has decried foul over the latest load scam using his name.

In a media interview on Monday, Barba appealed to the public not to be easily fooled by unscrupulous individuals.

“I don’t know why they believe I am asking for a load. I’m using a postpaid sim. Please don’t be fooled. Should there be the same incident again, please report it immediately to the police,” said Barba.

According to Barba, it has reached his attention – based on a police information - that someone is using his name to ask for load worth more than 23,000.

This morning, he reported that personnel from the Fort Ilocandia Resort and Casino went to his office informing him that he made a booking at the said hotel but it turned out there was none.

As this developed, the vice governor said he has set a meeting with Senior Supt. Cesar Pasiwen, the Officer-in-Charge of the Ilocos Norte Police Provincial Office, and the National Bureau of Investigation to investigate the matter.

“It’s my first time to encounter this and it angers me much,” said Barba.(PNA)
