KAWIT, Cavite -- The country’s historical museums are no longer just a venue of history meant to inspire and educate visitors, but have evolved into interactive classrooms and center stages for special events to gain information and insights.
National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) Chairperson Dr. Rene Escalante shared, during Tuesday’s reckoning of the 120th year of the country’s independence at this town’s Aguinaldo Shrine, the various efforts of the NHCP-run museums and shrines here.
These museums now feature an array of activities using multi-media, events and competitions, including international, national and regional conferences to continuously engage and educate the museum goers, community and the public.
As a prelude to the 120th Independence Day events graced by no less than President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, the Museo ni Emilio Aguinaldo (MEA) located at the Shrine’s lower ground, organized a lecture-cum-demonstration titled: “Alab ng Puso: Huling Parangal sa Watawat ng Pilipinas.”
MEA is one of the three NHCP-managed museums in the Cavite cluster, along with the Museo ni Baldomero Aguinaldo (MBA), which is also located in Kawit; and the Museo ng Paglititis ni Andres Bonifacio (Bonifacio Trial House), which is located in Maragondon town. (PNA)
