ZAMBOANGA CITY--Rep. Celso Lobregat on Friday called on the newly-elected and re-elected barangay officials to unite and work together for the progress and development of this city.
Lobregat made the call as the elected barangay as well as the Sangguniang Kabataan officials are set to assume office on June 30, which is barely two weeks away.
“The election is over and its time to buckle down to work for the benefit of the constituents of their respective barangays,” Lobregat said.
Lobregat on Tuesday administered the oath of office of the elected barangay officials from six of this city’s 98 barangays.
The barangay officials are from Cacao, Bolong, Culianan, Sta. Catalina, Zone II and Zone IV. The simple oath taking ceremony was held at the residence of Lobregat.
“I am just giving in to with their wishes as they were the ones who requested me to administer their oath of office,” he added.
The lawmaker reminded the village officials that as elected public officers, they must render service beyond office hours when necessary. (PNA)
