ZAMBOANGA CITY--Authorities have arrested 11 people, including two high-value target personalities, and seized PH84,100 worth of illegal drugs in separate operations in this city, an official said Saturday.
One of the two arrested high-value target personalities, Paulita Berdin Tubil, is a member of the Delta Force Drug Group, police said. The other one, Grace Monroy Berdin, maintains a drug den.
Chief Supt. Billy Beltran, Police Regional Office-9 (PRO-9) director, said Tubil and Berdin were arrested around 4 p.m. Friday along with three others in a pot session inside a drug den in Barangay Camino Nuevo, this city. The three other suspects are identified as Orlando Balanding Tubil Jr., Raymark Tubil Monroy, and Rowel Corpuz Macaso.
Beltran said the joint team of policemen and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agents seized from the suspects PHP81,600 worth of methamphetamine hyrochloride locally known as shabu packed in three heat-seal transparent plastic sachets, PHP1,500 marked money consisting of PHP1,000 and PHP500 bills and illegal drug paraphernalia.
On the same day, seven others were arrested separately for drug-related offenses.
Arrested in Barangay San Roque, this city, are: Hadzmir Oding Hadjinula, 17; Oswaldo Del Rosario Sagrado, 21; Jose Delos Reyes Delos Santos, 21; and Noli Gagaracruz Delos Santos, 30.
Beltran said that Hadjinula, Sagrado, and the two Delos Santoses (Jose and Noli) yielded three small-size sachets of shabu and marked money.
Also arrested were: Harris Gajardo, 43, in in Barangay Tumaga, who yielded two small-size sachets; Roseller Ignacio Larracochea, 65; and, Jamar Isdal Ismula, 31.
Larracochea, a septuagenarian, who was arrested in Barangay Guiwan, yielded three small-size sachets of shabu.
Ismula yielded PHP2,500 worth of shabu packed in 12 small-size sachets when he was arresed in Barangay Sangali.
Beltran said appropriate charges will be filed against the suspects. (PNA)
