GENERAL TRIAS, Cavite – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Cavite has slated ‘Basic Accounting and TRAIN Law” seminar for micro, small and medium entrepreneurs (MSMEs) at the city hall here on Tuesday (June 19).
The seminar will present the application and implication of Republic Act No. 10963, or the “Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) Law".
The forum, which runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., will feature Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Mildred Ann Ladao, a tax consultant and faculty member of St. Dominic of Asia (Bacoor City) as resource speaker.
The event forms part of DTI’s Small and Medium Enterprise Roving Academy (SMERA) programs to sustain assistance to MSMEs to become competitive in the domestic and international markets, said DTI Cavite Trade and Industry Development Specialist Julie Salvacion.
Other than the TRAIN Law, DTI’s SMERA also has training modules on managerial and entrepreneurial aspects/areas of business like organizational management, business communication, 5S Waste Management Process, Packaging and Labeling, and Business, Expense, Saving.
The DTI has forged partnerships with business development services (BDS) providers, local government units (LGUs), training institutions, chamber, academe and financial institutions; trade and industry association and other government and non-government organizations (NGOs) to ensure the success of the program.
The June 19 seminar is offered for free and done in partnership with the city government of General Trias, through its business permit and licensing office (BPLO).
BPLO chief Romel Olimpo, the current officer-in-charge for Investment and Promotion, said the seminar will help raise the awareness of the public, particularly small business owners about the salient provisions of the TRAIN law. (PNA)
