CAVITE CITY, Cavite — The provincial government of Cavite distributed rice to some 3,000 residents in Noveleta and another 2,000 local folks here on Sunday.
Cavite Governor Jesus Crispin Remulla led the distribution of rice to residents affected by typhoon "Domeng" at the San Rafel School, Noveleta, and Barangay (village) 13 covered court in Cavite City.
“The rice subsidy for the affected communities did not come from me but from the taxes of the people,” Remulla said.
"Ibinibigay lang po natin ang nararapat para sa ating mga mamamayan lalong-lalo na sa panahon ng kalamidad sa ating lalawigan (We give the affected constituents what they justly deserve particularly in times of calamity in the province),” he added.
Members of the governor’s family, including Indang Councilor Ping Remulla assisted in the rice distribution to residents in Cavite’s flood-prone and low-lying barangays that were inundated at the height of continuous monsoon rains.
Also present during the distribution were Provincial Administrator Boy Alvarez, Cavite City Mayor Bernardo Paredes, Vice Mayor Denver Chua, and Cavite 1st District Board Member Gilbert Gandia. (Dennis Abrina/PNA)
