MANILA -- The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has not issued a joint advisory with the Philippine National Police (PNP) and Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on fines and penalties against violations of Republic Act 4136 or the Land Transportation and Traffic Code.
The Department of Transportation (DOTr) denied reports circulating in social media that violators of the said law will be apprehended by the military and police together with the LTO starting July 1, 2018.
“Please be aware that the circulating image below regarding a joint advisory by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP)/Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Land Transportation Office (LTO) is false. The LTO did not issue any joint advisory with the AFP and PNP,” the DOTr said in its advisory Wednesday.
“We would like to remind everyone to rely only on information blasted through legitimate sources such as the official social media accounts of concerned government agencies,” it added.
