HAGONOY,  Bulacan -- The chief of police of this town was relieved from his post on Thursday for allegedly raping an inmate inside the police station.

Senior Superintendent Chito Bersaluna, acting Bulacan police director, said he immediately relieved Superintendent Kim Cobre, chief of Hagonoy Police Station, after the family of the alleged victim filed a complaint against the police officer.

Bersaluna, however, did not provide any other detail about the complaint. He said they are still conducting an investigation on the matter.

It was learned that the victim-inmate revealed to her family during the visiting hour that she was allegedly raped by Cobre inside the police office. (PNA)
