MANILA -- The rains brought about by Tropical Storm Henry prompted the PBA, the NCAA, and the MPBL to announce the postponement of their scheduled games on Tuesday.

Both club leagues explained in separate statements on Tuesday that the safety of their fans is of "utmost importance."

The postponement came hours before Barangay Ginebra and the Rain Or Shine Elasto Painters were supposed to play Game 2 of their best-of-five PBA Commissioner's Cup semifinal series at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

Game 2 will now take place on Thursday, the supposed play date of Game 3.

This also means that a game will be played on Saturday night as Game 3 will now be played on that day.

On the other hand, the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) said the postponement of its own doubleheader that was supposed to happen at the Muntinlupa Sports Complex in Muntinlupa was "due to floods in several areas."

The venue is located along the coastline of Laguna de Bay.

Meanwhile, National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) ManCom Frank Gusi announced the postponement of its entire fixture set just as Perpetual Help and Arellano were playing in the juniors' basketball at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan City.

Gusi said the game will be replayed from the start.

In effect, the Chiefs' seniors team was once again deprived of having its season debut, but it can finally play on Thursday, when the team hosts the EAC Generals in the second NCAA On Tour game of the season at the Arellano Gym here. (PNA)
