MANILA -- Sea travel was suspended Tuesday in some parts of Bicol, southern Tagalog, and southern Visayas regions due to heavy rains caused by the southwest monsoon and Tropical Storm “Henry”.

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), in an advisory, said that as of 12 noon, a total of 546 passengers, eight vessels, and 11 motor bancas were stranded in the piers of Coron, Brooke’s Point, and El Nido in the province of Palawan; Camarines Sur; Siquijor; Mabini and Calatagan ports in Batangas province, and the ports of San Jose and Abra de Ilog in Occidental Mindoro province.

All Coast Guard units were advised to ensure strict implementation of the guidelines on the movement of vessels during heavy weather.

Based on its latest weather bulletin, the state weather bureau has raised a Yellow Rainfall Warning over Metro Manila, Cavite, Batangas, Rizal, Bulacan, and Pampanga due to the threat of flooding in low-lying areas. (PNA)
