ZAMBOANGA CITY--Authorities have arrested three suspected big time drug pushers and seized PHP340,000 worth of illegal drugs in Zamboanga Sibugay, an official said Monday.

Laurefel Gabales, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-9 (PDEA-9) director, said the suspects were arrested in a joint PDEA and police buy-bust operation around 4 p.m. Sunday in Barangay Poblacion, Ipil, the capital town of Zamboanga Sibugay.

Gabales identified the arrested suspects as Reymark Sandoval, 28; Mohalidin Musa, 28; and Redden Principe, 31. They were arrested after they sold 50 grams of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride,  commonly known as shabu, in exchange for PHP340,000, he added.

The arresting team has confiscated from the suspects PHP1,000 marked money placed on top of neatly-cut paper “budol money”, aside from the 50 grams of shabu, the PDEA official said.

Charges for violations of Section 26, in relation to Sections 5 and 12, Article II of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, will be filed against the suspects. (PNA)
