GENERAL SANTOS CITY -- City Mayor Ronnel Rivera hailed President Rodrigo Duterte’s accomplishments in the past two years, following the latter's third State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday.

Rivera gave Duterte an eight out of 10 rating, saying the country's Chief Executive has exceeded expectations despite being in office for only two years.

However, the mayor said two years is quite short to assess the overall impact of the current administration and urged his constituents to give Duterte's reform agenda time to mature and reach all areas of the country.

Rivera expressed confidence that the various reforms being initiated by the government will redound to more investments and jobs.

Charity Sumagaysay, staff enforcer of the City Environment and Natural Resources Office in Koronadal City, lauded the performance of the President and noted that he already made significant strides in terms of weeding out corruption, criminality, and illegal drugs.

“He delivered his SONA well and clearly transmitted the message that he wanted to convey,” she said.

Police Officer 2 Robert Parreno expressed gratefulness over the President’s commitment to continue with the intensified war against illegal drugs.
He said Duterte’s commitment against the drug menace was "clear and concise."

Jeong Dencio, a motorcycle-for-hire driver, said he was satisfied with the President’s third SONA, noting that it was “nice and short” but with more  impact. (PNA)
