MANILA -- Just moments before its scheduled match against Stallion Laguna, Global Cebu parted ways with its head coach, Marjo Allado.

Allado tendered his resignation on Saturday as the gaffer of the former powerhouse club, which has been suffering financial constraints this season.

"The last three years have been wonderful. (It was a) great experience and (I am) proud of our many accomplishments with this club," Allado said in his resignation letter, which was publicized on social media. "I have enjoyed my time with the club."

However, Allado, who is concurrently the head coach of the University of Santo Tomas men's football team, revealed that due to him being unpaid for months, he was prompted to blow the final whistle in his job with the Philippines Football League squad.

"I endured hardships (for) so many months with no salary and no assistant coaches," he said in a statement. "I am also hoping that I will get my unpaid salaries since I've really worked hard for it."

Cebu was fresh from getting mauled by Marikina, 1-11, on Wednesday at the PFF National Training Center, and the club is looking to bounce back against Laguna in the match that is ongoing as of posting. (PNA)
