MANILA -- The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) has registered the expansion projects of two Japanese manufacturing firms in special economic zones in Laguna and Cavite, effectively giving them the go signal.
PEZA announced Monday that its director general, Charito Plaza, awarded the certificates of registration to Denso Ten Philippines Corp. and Daisho Tech Philippines Corp. for their additional investments in the country.
Denso Ten opened its logistics facility to provide warehousing support services for importation and procurement, storage, and subsequent sale of auto parts and components to PEZA-registered firms, and also for export.
The new facility is located on Denso Ten’s existing property in Laguna Technopark in Sta. Rosa City, Laguna.
The Japanese firm began its operations in the Philippines in 1990, producing audio-visual products and automotive electronics, such as car audio, as well as electronic control units for security, airbag, and engine control module.
Aside from the production plant, it has software development operations for audio-visual and automotive electronics in Metro Manila.
On the other hand, Daisho Tech expanded its manufacturing business on its existing facility in the People’s Technology Complex-Special Economic Zone Carmona in Cavite.
Daisho Tech’s business in the Philippines includes manufacturing services, such as visual inspection, laser marking, oven baking, programming, taping, reeling and packaging of tapes, reels, integrated circuits, and electro components through manual, semi-manual, and automatic equipment.
For the first half of the year, PEZA approved 258 projects with investments amounting to PHP53.04 billion. (PNA)
