BACOLOD CITY -- More than PHP500,000 worth of illegal drugs were seized in separate buy-bust operations in two Negros Occidental cities, police reports on Tuesday showed.
On Monday in San Carlos City, operatives arrested Michael Christopher Gonzales, 36, a street-level target, who yielded about 25 grams of “shabu” (crystal meth) valued at PHP300,000.
Gonzales sold a small sachet of “shabu” to a poseur-buyer during the operation around 5:50 a.m. at S. Carmona Street in Barangay 6, which was conducted by joint personnel of the San Carlos City Police Station and the Negros Occidental Police Drug Enforcement and Provincial Intelligence Units.
They also seized PHP980 in cash along with PHP500 marked money and a motorcycle.
Over in Bacolod, operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit recovered from four suspects eight sachets of “shabu” worth PHP180,000 and a sachet of marijuana around 1 a.m. on the same day. The report did not include the amount of drugs seized from the suspects.
They were arrested after selling PHP1,000 worth of “shabu” to a poseur-buyer at Purok Lubi in Barangay 3.
Police identified the suspects as Eugine Alit, Luige Sunigen, Gilbert Sumiguin, and Bash Malanday, all detained at Police Station 2.
On Sunday, policemen also arrested Joel Fuentes, 31, of Barangay 27, also in Bacolod after he yielded 10 sachets of “shabu” valued at PHP25,000 following a buy-bust. (PNA)
