MMDA advises public on road works this weekend

MANILA -- Motorists are advised of heavy traffic due to road repairs by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in parts of Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (Edsa) and Circumferential Road 5 (C-5) this weekend.

In its traffic advisory Friday, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said road re-blocking will be conducted in the following areas from 11 p.m. of September 7 until 5 a.m. of September 10:

SOUTHBOUND:

C-5 Road before Tiendesitas approach of C-5 Ortigas Flyover
C-5 Road (Gap 3) Chainage 52 – Chainage 420 (1st lane)
Edsa in front of Francesca Tower to after Scout Borromeo (3rd lane from the center island)

NORTHBOUND:

Edsa before North Avenue (6th lane from center island)
A.H Lacson Ave. cor. Aragon St., and cor. P. Florentino St.
Batasan Road before Payatas Road and fronting QCPU (2nd lane)
Motorists are advised to avoid these areas and use alternate routes instead.

The Manila Water Co. will also conduct pavement restoration along a single block of C-5 southbound after the intersection of Green Meadows – C5 Road. The first lane will be closed from 10 p.m. and will be passable by 4 a.m. on Monday, September 10. (PNA)
