BACOLOD CITY -- Police arrested four drug personalities, including two teenagers, while PHP646,000 worth of suspected shabu (crystal meth) was seized in separate buy-bust operations in Negros Occidental in the past two days.
In Silay City, Joseph Garrucho, 19, yielded 14 sachets of shabu estimated to be worth PHP400,000 when police operatives nabbed him at around 10:20 p.m. Monday on Eusebio Street in Barangay 3.
In a radio interview, police said Garrucho, of Barangay Rizal, is considered a high-value target, who belongs to the Aguirre drug group in Silay City.
Aside from the illegal drugs, police also seized from the suspect PHP1,240 cash, PHP3,500 boodle money, PHP500 marked money, a mobile phone, among others.
Last February, Garrucho was also arrested in a similar drug operation in Barangay Rizal, where he yielded PHP50,000 worth of suspected shabu. He was released from detention after entering a plea bargain.
Meanwhile, La Carlota City police arrested computer shop worker Patrick Salazar, 18, in a buy bust operation along San Agustin Street, Barangay 1 on Monday afternoon. He yielded PHP30,000 worth of suspected shabu.
On Sunday night, Lester Acibedo was apprehended by operatives of Bacolod City Police Drug Enforcement Unit in Purok Chico, Barangay 28 after selling PHP1,000 worth of suspected shabu. The suspect yielded eight sachets of suspected shabu valued at PHP180,000.
On the same night, Jerome Macailo, 38, was arrested in a buy-bust operation at the public plaza in Barangay 5, San Carlos City with three grams of suspected shabu amounting to PHP36,000. (PNA)
