LEGAZPI CITY -- Anti-narcotics operatives gunned down three suspected drug pushers in two separate operations in Camarines Sur and Albay, a report reaching the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Bicol said.

Killed was Deolito Lastrollo, a resident of Barangay Binanuaanan Norte, Pili town in Camarines Sur.

Chief Insp. Maria Luisa Calubaquib, PNP-Bicol spokesperson, said Lastrollo who is a known drug pusher in the area sold a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover agent outside residence around 3:15 p.m. Tuesday.

Sensing the transaction was a buy-bust operation the suspect rushed into his house and reached for his .38-caliber revolver. The police claimed they were forced to fire back because Lastrollo suddenly fired at them.

The suspect, who suffered several gunshot wounds, was rushed to the Bicol Medical Center in Naga City but was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians.

Meanwhile, in Albay, two other suspected drug pushers were killed in a shootout with anti-narcotics operatives on Monday night in Barangay Lidong, Sto. Domingo town.

Slain were Joseph Briones of Barangay San Roque, Legazpi City and his companion who had yet to be identified. The two were subjects of a sting operation in Barangay Lidong around 11:30 p.m. Monday.

The suspects, after realizing that they were transacting with undercover police operatives, drew pistols prompting the lawmen to shoot at them.

Recovered from the suspects' possession were five sachets of suspected marijuana and two sachets of shabu or crystal meth.

Briones, according to the police, was in the PDEA illegal drug watch list. (PNA)
