PDP-Laban stalwarts first to file COCs in Zamboanga Sibugay

IPIL, Zamboanga Sibugay--Candidates of the administration’s political party in this province were the first to file their Certificates of Candidacy (COCs) Thursday.

The standard bearer of the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) for gubernatorial race, incumbent Gov. Wilter Yap Palma, filed his COC together with the candidates for district representatives, as well as for the provincial board in the first and second districts of this province.

Palma and his slate arrived around 9:30 a.m. at the Comelec office to file their COCs.

“I cannot wait for the last day of filing (of COCs),” said Palma, being the first candidate to file COC seeking reelection for a third term in office.

The PDP-Laban’s candidates for Sangguniang Panlalawigan, who filed their COCs together with the governor, were first district incumbent provincial board members Allan Escamillan and Jessie Lagas as well as newcomers Crescencio Jore, Napiza Hahiron, and Ebon Palma.

The candidates for the Sangguniang Panlalawigan in the second district are incumbent provincial board members Maria Esperanza Corazon Rillera, George Castillo, and Welborne Danda as well as newcomers Bella Javier and Janice Rhodora Cabarios.

The son of the governor, first term District 1 Rep. Wilter Wee Palma II filed his COC around 11 a.m. Thursday, seeking reelection in his district.

Palma’s running-mate, incumbent Vice Governor Eldwin Alibutdan, filed his COC on Friday. (PNA)
