‘Drug pusher’ killed, another nabbed in separate drug ops

LEGAZPI CITY -- A suspected drug pusher was killed in a shootout with police operatives during a drug operation in Barangay del Rosario in Naga City on Saturday.

Mark Erwin Pacay, a resident of Barangay Calauag, Naga City, was armed with a .38 caliber revolver and decided to fight it out with operatives during a buy-bust operation at 12:45 a.m., a police report said.

Recovered from the slain suspect were illegal drug items.

In this city, a suspected big-time illegal drug peddler was collared by anti-illegal drug operatives during an operation on Friday night.

Anthony Orense alias Tonton, 32, a resident of this city, was caught selling suspected shabu to an undercover agent at about 8 p.m., said Chief Insp. Maria Luisa Calubaquib, the spokesperson of Police Regional Office 5 (Bicol), on Saturday.

Seized from the suspect were two sachets of shabu weighing 9.5 grams with a street value of PHP65,000.

Cotton Talento, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) spokesperson, in an interview, said the suspect is a member of a notorious drug group operating in this city. He is also on the PDEA watch list as a high-value target. (PNA)
