MANILA -- Operatives of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Anti-Human Trafficking Division rescued two minors and arrested an individual in an operation in Market Market, Taguig City.

In a statement Thursday, NBI Director Dante Gierran said the subject, who remains unnamed while inquest proceedings are being undertaken at the Department of Justice (DOJ), was a relative of the victims.

He will be charged for violation of the Anti-Child Pornography Law.

The operation, conducted on Tuesday, stemmed from a tip from the Dutch Police in 2016 and after three months of case build-up by the NBI and other government agencies.

The two rescued victims, aged eight and eleven, were being offered to have intercourse with the customers.

They have been taken into custody by the Department of Social Welfare and Development. (PNA)
