MANILA -- A low pressure area, tail-end of a cold front affecting southern Luzon, and the northeast monsoon affecting northern and central Luzon will bring rains over the island, the weather bureau said Sunday.

According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the LPA was last spotted 240 kilometers northwest of Zamboanga City.

Metro Manila, Bicol, Calabarzon and Mimaropa regions will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms caused by the LPA and the tail-end of a cold front.

Meanwhile, Ilocos, Cordillera, Cagayan Valley and Central Luzon regions will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rains due to northeast monsoon.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, strong winds will blow over Luzon and Eastern Visayas. Coastal waters along these areas will be rough.

Elsewhere, winds will be moderate to strong with moderate to rough seas, PAGASA said. (PNA)
