MANILA -- The Office for Transportation Security (OTS) has already clarified with security screeners at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) their complaint about not receiving their supposed benefits, an executive told the Philippine News Agency (PNA) on Thursday.

Last Tuesday, several security screeners at the NAIA Terminal 1 wore a red arm band, as a sign of protest for apparently not receiving their benefits.

"I've already met with them this (Thursday) afternoon, and the issue is now clear with them. They're okay now and they're no longer protesting," OTS Undersecretary Arturo Evangelista said.

He said those screeners are both regular and contractual employees, who were expecting to receive their performance-based bonus (PBB) and collective negotiation agreement (CNA) incentive.

Evangelista said he told them that the grant of PBB and CNA depends on the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).

"Each agency has to reach certain points required by the DBM, and it's not just the OTS which didn't receive the PBB and CNA," he remarked.

Evangelista added that the OTS is looking at the possibility of still getting these incentives. (PNA)
