MANILA —Typhoon Wutip (international name) continues to move slowly toward the country as the northeast monsoon brings isolated light rains, the weather bureau said.

"Wutip", which is still outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), is expected to enter PAR on Thursday if it does not dissipate or change direction, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Tuesday.

As of 3 a.m., the eye of "Wutip" was located 1,830 kilometers east of southern Luzon, packing winds of 190 kilometer per hour and gusts of 235 kph. It will be named "Betty" once it enters PAR.

Meanwhile, the Bicol Region and the provinces of Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, and Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies, with isolated light rains caused by the northeast monsoon.

Temperature in Metro Manila ranges from 12-31 degrees Celsius; Tuguegarao City, 20-32 degrees Celsius; Baguio City, 12-22 degrees Celsius; Metro Cebu, 23-30 degrees Celsius and Metro Davao, 23-23 degrees Celsius. (PNA)
