MANILA — Bienve Marañon dropped a hat trick on Becamex Binh Duong as Ceres Negros scored its second win in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup, 3-1, at the Go Dau Stadium in Thu Dau Mot, Vietnam on Tuesday night.

Marañon started his three-goal haul in one of the biggest blunders a goalkeeper could ever make.

In the 26th minute, after saving the ball, Bui Tan Troung took some time clearing the ball. Marañon stole the ball from him and slotted it to the now wide open goalmouth to put the visiting side ahead, 1-0.

Wander Luiz thought he would force a late draw after drilling in a 72nd minute goal to tie the match, but Marañon answered two minutes after and shot the dagger four minutes later.

Negros remains in first place in Group G with a perfect six points, while Binh Duong fell to third place following Persija Jakarta's 3-1 win at Shan United with only one point to show. (PNA)
