NorthPort snaps long skid by blasting TNT

MANILA -- NorthPort finally got a win after a long slide with a 109-83 mauling of TNT in the PBA Philippine Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City on Sunday night.

The Batang Pier began pulling away after going on a 31-15 second quarter to take a 53-31 halftime lead.

The KaTropa tried to mount a comeback after starting the third period on an 11-0 blast, but the Batang Pier weathered the said rally and eventually completed the rout.

Stanley Pringle led NorthPort, which moved up to 3-6, with 27 points, nine rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block.

Sean Anthony added 14 markers, seven boards, three dimes, and two steals off the bench.

Don Trollano put up 15 points, seven caroms, one dime, one steal, and one block for TNT, which was denied a chance to finish at the Top 2 standings after falling to 7-4. (PNA)
